tHE PERFECT LOCATION FOR SURFERS
Not only has the Bukit Penisula got Bali’s best waves, it’s also the home to the most picturesque beaches. White sand and crystal clear azure waters are mostly reached by descending clifftop steps.
The Bukit really is Bali’s new hotspot; as Canggu and Seminyak (with their darker-sand beaches) become ever more crowded, the white beaches of Bingin and surrounding villages are becoming very popular. New restaurants and boutiques are opening every few weeks and there is a wealth of dining and shopping to enjoy, including international food and great local cuisine too.
We built Swell right in the centre of one of the most charming villages here; Bingin retains a very strong community feel with ever-so-friendly Balinese smiles to greet you everywhere you go.
The Location of Swell is genuinely close to everything you need to make your holiday perfect; you won’t need to rent a scooter if you don’t want to as we are a stones throw away from lovely places to eat, a mini-mart, Yoga facilities, a gym, a spa, even a laundry and of course, a very short walk to the beach.
Reef breaks, beach breaks, hardcore barrels or mellow longboard waves; lefts and even some right-handers: Shallow or deep water, you choose the tide and time to suit. Early morning, or sunset surf; the West coast of the Bukit has a huge variety of surf spots, all condensed into a small geographical area. Top spots are of course Uluwatu, Padang-Padang and Bingin.
If you are not after expert waves, then the mellow waves of Dreamland, Baby Padang and Bingin on a higher tide will suit you better.
We are approximately 40 minutes from Ngurah Rai International airport.
If you are staying with us for 7 nights or longer, your airport transfers to and from Ngurah Rai airport to Swell are included in your room rate. If you are staying less nights and still would like an airport collection or drop off, we can arrange those for you for $25 USD per taxi journey (Swell to DPS, or DPS to Swell only).
Most people rent a scooter with a surfboard rack. It’s cheap to rent (depending on the age of the bike, expect to spend between 5 and 7 USD per day). If you don’t want to ride a bike, taxis are cheap here too. If you are taking surf lessons or surf guiding with one of our partners, they will take you to and from a variety of surf spots included within their lesson or guiding rates.
